About Us

Welcome!

Hey Friends – Carol here, aka Scarlett.

As a freshman in high school, I was tagged by a classmate with the nickname Scarlett. I had worn a beautiful plaid skirt with matching scarf to school that day and he started calling me Scarlett. When I asked him why he called me Scarlett he said, “she made her dress from a curtain too”. It was all said in fun but it stuck throughout high school.

Fast forward to May 2010, when I lost my job during the recession. Unable to find employment, I decided to open a ladies consignment store. I had worked for JCPenney’s while in college and had become a Sr Merchandise Manager, so I decided to give it a go!

Scarlett’s relocated 3 times in three years as the store continued to grow. We still have some of the same customers shopping with me now, that shopped with me in 2010! In 2015 we moved into our current location at 3275 Reidville Road. We added space for vendors that offered handmade and repurposed items, original artwork, vintage/antique pieces, and even furniture.

Fast forward again to 2020 and the start of the Covid pandemic. Scalett’s business
changed from mostly consignment to new Boutique clothing and accessories in a matter of months. With everyone working from home, folks weren’t bringing in clothing to consign. This was a pivotal time for the store, but ladies loved our new selections and people wanted to shop local and small businesses.

Our main team includes me, my friends Martha, Jenn, and Sue, my niece Summer, and my store-daughter Avery. We all have a love for fashion, and a love for helping others! We know life brings about many changes including our bodies and that’s why we try so hard to find trendy, unique pieces that will fit and flatter everyone, from size Small to Plus.

So, we welcome you to take time, look around our site, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get to know us!

Happy Shopping,

Carol
